Paul Elliott Singer (born August 22, 1944) is an American billionaire hedge fund manager, activist, investor, and philanthropist,
with a net worth of $3.5 billion according to Forbes.[2][3][4][5][6] He has been called a vulture capitalist because his hedge fund,
Elliott Management Corporation (EMC), specializes in distressed debt acquisitions.[7]:301[8] Singer is also the founder and CEO of
NML Capital Limited, a Cayman Islands company.
Singer's philanthropic activities include financial support for LGBTQ rights.[9][10][11] He has provided funding to the Manhattan
Institute for Policy Research,[12] is a strong opponent of raising taxes for the wealthiest 1% of taxpayers and opposes aspects of
the Dodd-Frank Act.[12] Singer is active in Republican Party politics and Singer and others affiliated with Elliott Management are
collectively "the top source of contributions" to the National Republican Senatorial Committee.[13]
Fortune magazine described Singer as one of the "smartest and toughest money managers" in the hedge fund industry.[12] A number of
sources have branded him a "vulture capitalist", largely on account of his role at EMC, which has been called a vulture
fund.[4][14][15][16] He has been criticized for ruining the town of Sidney, Nebraska by forcing Cabelas to close.[17] The
Independent has described him as "a pioneer in the business of buying up sovereign bonds on the cheap, and then going after
countries for unpaid debts."[18] In 1996 Singer began using the strategy of purchasing sovereign debt from nations in or near
default—such as Argentina,[12][19][20][21] and Peru[18][22][23]—through his NML Capital Limited[18] and Congo-Brazzaville through
Kensington International Inc.[16] Singer's practice of purchasing distressed debt from companies and sovereign states and pursuing
full payment through the courts has led to criticism.[21][24] Singer and EMC defend their model[4] as "a fight against charlatans
who refuse to play by the market's rules",[19] and supporters of the practice have said it "help[s] keep kleptocratic governments in
check."[25]

Early Life
Singer was born in 1944, and grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey in a Jewish family,[26][27][28] one of three children of a Manhattan
pharmacist and a homemaker.[12] He obtained his B.S. in psychology from the University of Rochester in 1966[29] and a J.D. from
Harvard Law School in 1969.[12][30] In 1974 Singer went to work as an attorney in the real estate division of the investment bank
Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.[12][30]
Career
Elliott Management
Main article: Elliott Management Corporation
In 1977, with a convertible arbitrage "winning formula," Singer left law to create his own investment company. He founded the hedge
fund Elliott Associates L.P. with US$1.3 million in seed capital from various friends and family members.[10][12] According to The
Telegraph in 2011, Elliott is "one of the oldest hedge funds on Wall Street."[31] Singer is also the founder and CEO of NML Capital
Limited, a Cayman Islands-based offshore unit of Elliott Management Corporation.[18]
According to Fortune, Elliott has been involved "in most of the big post-crash restructurings."[12] In 2009 The Guardian reported
that Singer "through a brilliantly complex financial manoeuvre, took control of Delphi Automotive, the sole supplier of most of the
auto parts needed by General Motors and Chrysler." Ultimately, the US Treasury paid Elliott Management "$12.9 billion in cash and
subsidies from the US Treasury's auto bailout fund."[32] In December 2011 Elliott Associates sued Vietnam's state-owned shipbuilder
Vinashin in the UK for defaulting the year before on a US$600 million syndicated loan.[33]
As of February 2014 Elliott controlled $23bn (£19bn) of funds and was the ninth largest investor on Wall Street.[34]
In June 2015 Elliott was an active activist investor with Citrix Systems, pushing for various changes.[35] In May 2014 the French
Financial Markets Regulator fined Elliott a record €14 million ($22 million) for insider trading, a ruling which the company
appealed.[36] In a long-standing dispute between Singer and members of the Lee family over a merger between Samsung and Cheil
Industries, in 2015 Samsung published numerous cartoons of Singer as an anthropomorphic vulture on its corporate website. The
cartoons were denounced by Singer and others as antisemitic.[26] Samsung responded several days later denouncing antisemitism,[26]
and pulled the images from their website.[37]
Forbes rated Singer's net worth as $2.1 billion in 2015[4][14][26][38] and $2.2 billion in 2016.[39] As of November 2015 Elliott
Management Corporation oversees Elliott Associates and Elliott International Limited, which together have more than $27 billion in
assets under management in a "multi-strategy fund."[10][38] The corporation includes a private equity division.[40] Termed a
"specialist in activism in technology companies" by the Wall Street Journal in June 2015,[35] Elliott Management's varied portfolio
also includes a prominent tech component.[40] The company pursued "more than 40 campaigns aimed at tech companies" between 2004 and
2015, according to Reuters.[40] in 2018, Elliott Management took control of Italian football club A.C. Milan.[41]
Sovereign debt
In 1996 Elliott bought defaulted Peruvian debt for $11.4 million.[23] Elliott won a $58 million judgment[19] and Peru had to repay
the sum in full under the pari passu rule.[22] When former president of Peru Alberto Fujimori was attempting to flee the country due
to human rights abuses and corruption, Singer confiscated his jet and offered to let him leave the country in exchange for the $58
million payment from the treasury. Fujimori accepted.[20][42][33] In the 1990s the Kensington International division of EMC
purchased US$30 million (£18m) of "Congolese sovereign debt... allegedly for less than $20m." Kensington subsequently spent years
trying to be paid in full through the courts.[15] In 2008 Kensington and the Republic of Congo settled for an undisclosed
amount.[33]
After Argentina defaulted on its debt in 2002, the Elliott-owned company NML Capital Limited refused to accept the Argentine offer
to pay less than 30 cents per dollar of debt.[12] Elliott sued Argentina for the debt's value,[43] and the lower UK courts found
that Argentina had state immunity. Elliott successfully appealed the case to the UK Supreme Court, which ruled that Elliott had the
right to attempt to seize Argentine property in the United Kingdom, and on October 2, 2012, Singer arranged for a Ghanaian Court
order to detain an Argentine naval vessel in a Ghanaian port in an effort to force Argentina to pay the debt, but was rebuffed when
the seizure was barred by the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.[44][45][46][47][48][49] In February 2013 the U.S.
appeals court heard Argentina's appeal in the case of its default and debt to NML.[50] In March 2013 Argentina offered a new
plan,[51] which was dismissed first by the lower courts and then the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on August
23, 2013, and then again in June 2014 in the U.S. Supreme Court.[52][53] In March 2014 NML Capital unsuccessfully attempted to
satisfy court awards by suing SpaceX, seeking the rights to two satellite-launch contracts bought by Argentina valued at $113
million.[19]:2[54][55][56][57] In early 2016 US courts ruled that Argentina must make full payments to holdout bondholders by
February 29.[58] In February 2016 Argentina reached an agreement with Singer.[59][60][61][62][63]
Business and investment model
According to Fortune, Singer focused from early times "on distressed assets," buying up bankrupt firms' debt and acquiring "a
reputation for strong-arming his way to profit."[12] Fortune noted in 2012 that losses sustained early in Singer's career led to a
"risk aversion that still guides his investing today. Thanks to his caution, by 2012 Elliott had "only two down years" since 1977,
rising "4.2% in 2011, a year in which most hedge funds lost money."[12] Describing him as "one of the smartest and toughest money
managers in the business", the article further notes that his firm "is so influential that fear of its tactics helped shape the
current 2012 Greek debt restructuring."[12]
Elliott was termed by The Independent as "a pioneer in the business of buying up sovereign bonds on the cheap, and then going after
countries for unpaid debts."[18] Singer describes his business model as "a fight against charlatans who refuse to play by the
market's rules,"[19] and in 2013 Singer told Alpha Magazine that "we've made the point over and over again that sovereigns that
could pay their debts and choose not to may be attempting to save some money but are harming their people and their economies by
making investing in their countries more risky and more problematic and by discouraging foreign investment."[4] In response, The
Washington Post wrote in 2014 that "in Singer's view, he isn't just forcing indebted companies and countries to pay up. He's trying
to create a world where distressed debt doesn't exist. Depending on your own views, that makes Singer an activist investor, or a
'vulture capitalist.'"[4]
Philanthropy
Singer signed The Giving Pledge, which signals a commitment by individuals to donate more than half of their wealth within their
lifetime to address society's "most difficult moral and economic challenges."[9]
Singer founded the Paul E. Singer Family Foundation, which supports charitable causes including the Harvard Graduate School of
Education Singer Prize for Excellence in Secondary Teaching,[64] VH1 Save The Music Foundation,[65] the Food Bank For New York City,
National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Action Fund, the American Unity Fund, the New York City Police Foundation,[66][67]
MarineParents.com,[13][68] the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society[69][70] and the Melanoma Research Alliance.[71]
Singer and The Paul E. Singer Family Foundation are behind The Philos Project, a pro-Israel Christian organization.[72] In 2016
Singer partnered with the Museum of the Bible to fund Passages Israel, a program to take college students to Israel.[73] He is a
"longtime supporter of hawkish pro-Israel causes" and a major funder of the conservative think tank Foundation for Defense of
Democracies.[74] In November 2018, after the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, the Paul E. Singer Family Foundation announced it would
donate $1 million to upgrade security at Jewish institutions in New York.[75] The funds will be given to the United Jewish Appeal –
Federation of New York, which will then distribute them as needed to individual synagogues, day schools, and community centers for
safety reviews and enhanced precautions.[76]
Singer also serves on the Board of Fellows of Harvard Medical School and the board of directors of Commentary Magazine.[77][78]
Political activity
Singer is an active participant in Republican Party politics.[79] According to The New York Times, he supports "like-minded
candidates who often share his distaste for what they view as governmental over-meddling in the financial industry."[80] Singer has
contributed more than $1 million to the political efforts of the Koch brothers.[81][82] In 2014, Singer led a group of major
Republican donors to form the American Opportunity Alliance, a group that brings together wealthy Republican donors who share
Singer's support for LGBTQ rights, immigration reform and Israel.[83] During the 2016 Presidential election campaign Singer
supported Marco Rubio and donated a million dollars in March to the Our Principles PAC, a PAC attempting to derail Donald Trump's
election campaign.[84][85][86][87] He also started the American Unity PAC.[88] He supported Trump's inaugural committee with $1
million together with 25 other billionaires.[89]
Singer was a major contributor to George W. Bush's presidential campaigns.[10][90] On March 14, 2008, Singer hosted a Republican
National Committee luncheon in his home for 70 guests that raised $1.4 million for Bush.[91][92][93] Bush appointed Singer to serve
on the Honorary Delegation to accompany him to Jerusalem for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel in May
2008.[94]
In 2007 Singer was one of Rudolph Giuliani's most important fundraisers in Giuliani's bid for the Republican presidential
nomination.[10][95] In 2007, Singer led a financial industry fund-raising effort for Giuliani, first as regional finance chair and
later as senior policy adviser.[96][97] Singer lent Giuliani his private jet.[97][98] That same year, Singer at $175,000 was the
sole contributor to a campaign to support a petition drive for a proposed California initiative to apportion the state's 55
electoral votes by congressional district. At least 19 of the state's 53 congressional districts were expected to vote for a GOP
presidential candidate, enough to change the national results in a close election.[95][99]
Singer was one of the largest donors of the 2010 midterm election cycle, contributing more than $4 million to support Republican
candidates.[92]
In 2011 Singer donated $1 million to Restore Our Future, a Super PAC created to support Mitt Romney in the 2012 U.S. Presidential
election.[100] In 2013, Singer gave $100,000 to the Club for Growth, a 501(c)4 organization that supports Tea Party candidates.[101]
He has also donated millions of dollars to organizations that advocate for a strong military and for supporting
Israel.[102][103][104]
In 2012 Singer founded the nonprofit Start-up Nation Central, inspired by the publication of the 2009 New York Times bestseller
Start-Up Nation. An NGO, Start-up Nation Central aims to develop collaboration between Israel's tech sector, outside investors and
innovators.[105][106] Bloomberg has described it as "a foreign ministry for Israel's tech industry". Since 2012 Singer has invested
around $20 million into it.[107] Start-Up Nation Central is based in Tel Aviv.[108]
Singer is a member of the Committee on Capital Markets Regulation, a non-governmental, nonpartisan research organization.[109] He is
chairman of the board of trustees for the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, a conservative think tank in New York City,[110]
and on the board of directors of the Republican Jewish Coalition, a political lobbying group in the United States that promotes
Jewish Republicans.[65] He also served on the board of directors for the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs.[111]
In 2016 Singer invested $500,000 in a PAC supporting John Faso, a Congressional candidate in New York's 19th congressional district
opposing progressive candidate and Wall Street critic Zephyr Teachout. Teachout responded to the donation by challenging Singer to
come to the district and debate her.[112]
LGBTQ rights
As well as contributing to private initiatives, Singer also actively seeks to persuade other Republicans to support gay
marriage.[10][113] He has joined other Wall Street executives in support of LGBT equality and stated that same-sex marriage promotes
"family stability" and that in a time when "the institution of marriage in America has utterly collapsed," the fact that gay couples
want to marry "is kind of a lovely thing and a cool thing and a wonderful thing."[114][115]
Singer, whose son Andrew married his husband Corey Morris in a same-sex marriage in Massachusetts in 2009, has also financially
supported the legalization of gay marriage in New York[116] and Maryland.[117] In 2011 this advocacy included supporting legislation
allowing same-sex marriage in the state of New York.[118]
In 2012 Singer provided $1 million to start a Political Action Committee named American Unity PAC. According to the New York Times,
the PAC's "sole mission will be to encourage Republican candidates to support same-sex marriage, in part by helping them to feel
financially shielded from any blowback from well-funded groups that oppose it."[119] In 2014 Singer urged Republicans to pass the
Employment Non-Discrimination Act. This bill requires workplace protections to extend to the LGBT community.[120] As of June 2014
Singer had donated an estimated $10 million to the gay rights movement.[10]
In 2015 Singer, Tim Gill and Daniel Loeb helped fund Freedom For All Americans to promote LGBT issues in states and local
communities in the United States.[121] [122]

According to an October 27, 2017, article in The New York Times, the initial sponsor of anti-Trump opposition research conducted by
the controversial Washington D.C. firm Fusion GPS was The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative political journalism website that
is "funded in large part" by Singer.[123]
Writings and commentary
Singer has written columns in the Wall Street Journal.[77] In 2009 he wrote "Free-Marketeers Should Welcome Some Regulation," a
column in which he argued that "It's true that monetary policy was too lax for too long, and the government encouraged lending to
people who were unlikely to repay their loans. But this crisis was primarily caused by managements and individuals throughout the
financial system who exercised extremely poor judgement. The private sector, not the public sector, is where the biggest mistakes
were made."[124] Among other topics, he has written against raising taxes for the wealthiest taxpayers ("the 1%") and aspects of the
Dodd-Frank Act.[12]
At a September 2006 financial conference in New York City, Singer delivered a speech called "Complexity Made Simple," advising that
the purchase of collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) was a serious mistake, and anticipating the downturn of the housing market by
nearly a year before the $770 billion taxpayer-funded bailout.[30]
Hedge fund manager Jim Chanos said in an August 2009 radio interview that he and Singer had met with G7 finance ministers in 2007 to
warn them that the global financial system was increasingly unstable and approaching a catastrophe, with banks on the verge of
sinking the global economy. The pair argued that decisive action was called for, but Chanos claims they were met with
indifference.[125]
Personal life
In 2015 Singer was 327th on the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans, 1006th among the world's billionaires, 350th of American
billionaires, and the 16th highest earning hedge fund manager.[26][38] Singer has been divorced since 1996.[126] He has two sons,
Andrew and Gordon.
After Andrew came out as gay, "[I reacted] with fear and nervousness, I worried about the health aspects ... grandfatherhood",
Singer said. But he eventually became a steadfast supporter of gay rights. In 2012 he launched the American Unity PAC, which aims to
persuade fellow conservatives to support same-sex marriage. He has actively supported same-sex marriage campaigns and makes large
donations to LGBT groups.[127]
Singer lives on New York City's Upper West Side and has a house in Aspen, Colorado.[12] He began studying classical piano at the age
of 10, and forms part of a family band, together with "one of his sons on guitar, the other on drums", and "his son-in-law on
saxophone." He enjoys Led Zeppelin and has played onstage with Meat Loaf.[12] He is a fan of Arsenal F.C.[10]
Honors
It wasn't Steele's MI-6 dodgy dossier ... the dirt on candidate Donald Trump was initiated
by Republican billionaires Paul Singer e.a. to get Bush III elected president ... failed so
the clan supported Rubio ... at last resort the dossier was "sold" to Democrats and HRC.
With some tweaks for technique, the same method bragged about by Bill Browder as "The
Hermitage Effect", and if truth be known, a similar method to those of venture capitalists
everywhere. Nobody has time to wait anymore for a company's stock to take off, and guess
right so that you are ahead of the curve – investors want to be rich nownownow, and
venture capitalists have learned you can make your own luck. Browder billed himself as an
'activist investor', because his claim was that he was actually doing the company a favour,
trying to help it succeed with western governance procedures and transparency and all that.
He would identify a company which he assessed was undervalued, and then begin a whisper
campaign against it – the bosses were on the take, lots of merchandise going out the
back door, cooking the books to conceal the losses, bla, bla, bla. The company's stock would
fall, and Hermitage would buy in when it felt the government's attention had been attracted
and it would try to save the company. Government investigation, some management changes and
maybe a government contract or some orders. Confidence returns, stock goes up, Browder rakes
in the cash and virtuously claims to have saved the company's bacon, when it was his
destabilizing efforts that made it shaky in the first place.
Singer is more like Richard Gere's billionaire capitalist in "Pretty Woman" – buying
up companies, busting them up, stripping off the salable assets and selling the husk; a
real-life example would be Mitt Romney.
Fewer care now about finding a cure for a wasting disease, or discovering a boundless
source of cheap and clean energy – the American Dream now is Getting Rich. Maybe it
always was – although I fancy I remember a bit more altruism, perhaps I am only
deluding myself with pleasant those-were-the-days fantasies. At any rate, corporations and
for-profit entities now seem much bolder about causing widespread ruin right out in the open,
and likewise seem to be rewarded for it by moving up the ranks of Most Profitable Companies,
which seems more and more the only measure of success.
If America did not have its giant military, there would be no reason to fear it, be wary
of offending it or even to pay very much attention to it. It is starting to slide over the
edge, but you still have to be cautious about its tail snaking up out of the pit and taking
you down with it.
Pro-Samsung media outlets in South Korea came under fire from Jewish groups after
utilizing anti-Semitism to belittle Singer.
"Elliott is led by a Jew, Paul E. Singer, and ISS [an advisory firm that analyzed the
merger] is an affiliate of Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), whose key
shareholders are Jewish. According to a source in the finance industry, Jews have a robust
network demonstrating influence in a number of domains," the South Korean financial
publication MoneyToday said last week.
Meanwhile, Mediapen, another local publication, asserted that "Jews are known to wield
enormous power on Wall Street and in global financial circles" and that it is a "well-known
fact that the US government is swayed by Jewish capital."
Jewish money, it reported, "has long been known to be ruthless and merciless."

Buyniski , RT A notorious hedge-funder who's left a trail of broken companies (and
countries) in his wake has set his sights on ousting Twitter's Jack Dorsey. Users complaining
about new features should know the platform may never be the same. Elliott Management,
euphemistically called an "activist investor" by timid media who fear its legendary
founder Paul Singer, has reportedly snapped up a four percent ($1 billion) stake in Twitter,
nominating four directors to its board as the start of a bid to oust Dorsey. The hedge fund
supposedly resents the CEO dividing his attentions between Twitter, Square, and a six-month
move to Africa, believing Twitter is capable of churning out bigger profits. Like any good
hedge fund – so the narrative goes – they just want the value of the company to
increase (stock jumped seven percent on the news).
What this coverage leaves out – and what makes Twitter's plight more than the usual
business scrap – is Singer's history. A major Republican donor and huge booster for
Israel, he's also a notoriously ruthless businessman who embodies "vulture capitalism,"
leaving a trail of asset-stripped companies and even a few economically-ruined countries in his
wake over his insanely profitable career. Media coverage of Singer's interest in Twitter has
gone to great lengths to present his interest in the platform as "
strictly business-related ," however, and some conservatives have even gotten excited
by the thought that the neocon Singer will end the ideologically-motivated censorship they
claim to experience on the platform – but nothing could be further from
reality.
Here come the vultures
Fox News' Tucker Carlson profiled Elliott Management's strategy in December thus: "Buy a
distressed company, outsource the jobs, liquidate the valuable assets, fire middle management,
and once the smoke has cleared, dump what remains to the highest bidder, often in Asia."
Amid the financial crash of 2008, Elliott, with other hedge funds, acquired distressed US auto
parts supplier Delphi, took billions in bailout money from the Obama government (a transaction
the president's "auto-czar" compared to "extortion" ), then offloaded so many
jobs overseas that 25 factories were forced to close, putting tens of thousands of union and
white-collar workers out on the street, as well as slashing pensions. Elliott Management made
over $1 billion from the deal

When Singer's fund sinks its teeth into its prey, it does not let go, and most victims have
learned to give up and hope for a quick death. When Elliott bought an 11 percent stake in
outdoors retailer Cabela's, it began pushing for a sale of what was then a profitable company.
The management so feared Singer that it sold within a year, sending stock prices through the
roof but putting almost 2,000 people out of their jobs, setting off a downward spiral that,
Carlson says, "destroyed" Cabela's hometown of Sidney, Nebraska, whose residents feared
to even speak about the hedge funder on camera four years later. AT&T similarly ran for its
life when Singer's fund bit off a $3.2 billion stake of the company in September, acquiescing
to several demands within a month (and there's still time for the rest).
Those who don't acquiesce are guaranteed to suffer. After Elliott Management bought up a
chunk of its debt, the country of Argentina defaulted, holding out for 15 years on Singer's
attempts to collect. A 13-year legal battle ensued, during which Singer's fund seized an
Argentine naval ship to prove they were serious about getting paid. Then-president Cristina
Fernandez denounced the "Vulture Lord," but her replacement, Mauricio Macri, finally
agreed in 2016 to pay up – just in time for the threat of another
debt default .
Peru and Congo have similarly felt the sting of Elliott Management's tactics, having their
distressed debt snapped up and then weaponized against them in court. And even when Singer
doesn't win, his opponents lose. Korean electronics giant Samsung was able to fight off his
takeover efforts when he tried to block a move by the Lee family to consolidate their holdings,
but the bitter battle ended in a five-year prison sentence for company head Jay Y. Lee on
bribery
charges and the impeachment of South Korean president Park Geun-hye.

Singer's corporate interests overseas don't stop at outsourcing to cut costs, however. He
founded an organization called Start-Up Nation Central to facilitate the transfer of huge
chunks of the US tech industry to Israel. The initiative seeks to counter the Boycott,
Divestment and Sanctions movement by making Israel essentially boycott-proof, and Singer has
accordingly used his billions to
push American tech firms into Israel – Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Apple
all have research and development centers there as of 2016. If he gets control of Twitter, the
company's US employees may be surprised to find their replacements speaking Hebrew, not
Chinese.
As for the conservatives who think Singer will defend them from Twitter censorship? Singer
was a hardcore anti-Trumper in 2015, backing Florida Senator Marco Rubio and funding the
prototype of the notorious Steele dossier. Former Trump campaign strategist Steve Bannon "
declared
war " on the billionaire in 2017 upon learning of his involvement. While Singer
financially backs Trump now, journalist Philip Weiss and others have suggested the hedge funder
"cut a deal with Trump on Israel," offering his support in exchange for Trump going
all-in on "protecting" the Jewish State.
Singer is the second-largest donor to the bloodthirsty think tank Foundation for Defense of
Democracies and also supports JINSA and the American Enterprise Institute – all
dyed-in-the-wool neocon groups cheerleading for war with Iran as they did in Iraq. If Trump's
"America-first" base thinks Singer is going to fight for their free speech on Twitter,

's New York-based hedge fund said in a
statement
Friday it had submitted the dispute for arbitration and urged the government to pay the damages
in order to preserve its reputation with international investors. Elliott said, to date, the parties have been
unable to resolve the matter on their own.
"Like all prominent economies, Korea obviously has no interest in
being viewed as hostile to foreign investors, particularly when other economies in the Asia-Pacific region are
fast becoming potentially attractive alternatives," Elliott said in the statement.
The South Korean government
acknowledged
they received the notice in a separate statement.
Elliott lost a proxy fight to oppose the combination of the Samsung
units, solidifying the founding family's grip over the group. Samsung narrowly won the vote, clinching support
from the government-run
National Pension Service
. Elliott claims the government unfairly meddled in the deal, which led to a
massive corruption scandal in the country.
NPS sided with Samsung after pressure from the presidential office,
landing the minister, who was then in charge of the pension fund, in jail. Elliott, which owned about 7 percent
of Samsung C&T at the time, says it incurred significant damages as a result of the former administration's
hand in allowing the merger to go through.
Samsung Vice Chairman Jay Y. Lee, who's been leading the group
after his father slipped into a coma, walked free from prison earlier this year after his sentence for bribery
in connection to the deal was suspended. Park Geun-hye, South Korea's first female president, was
sentenced
to 24 years in prison after being found guilty on charges including bribery and abuse of power.
"It is regrettable that the former administration took a hostile
approach to foreign investment rather than embracing it with a view to promoting domestic innovation and
maintaining economic growth," Elliott said Friday.
Another Samsung investor, Mason Capital Management, has also
served
a notice of intent to the government, saying it incurred
$175 million
in damages related to the actions of the former administration.
Elliott encouraged the South Korean government to uphold its
obligations toward foreign investors, including paying the damages, working to prevent future breaches, and
taking steps to no longer shield the ruling families at the expense of investors.
"Maintaining credibility internationally among investors is
critical to attracting foreign investment and propelling Korea to even greater prosperity," Elliott said.
Earlier this year, Elliott waged another fight in South Korea
against Hyundai Motor Group. In May, the automotive giant bowed to pressure from the activist and
shelved
its
$8.8 billion
restructuring plan, marking an unprecedented victory for shareholder activism in the

Paul Singer's Elliott Management, which lost its high-profile proxy battle against Samsung Group last year, may
be facing an investigation by prosecutors for failing to follow disclosure rules, according to a Korean media
report.
South Korea's Securities & Futures Commission said it has decided to refer Elliott to the prosecution following
an internal review and has submitted pertinent materials, according to Yonhap News.
The commission claims that although Elliott followed regulations when it boosted its ownership in Samsung by
2.17% from 4.95% in June, the actual disclosure should have been submitted in May when its stake had already
passed 5% via total return swaps, according to Yonhap.
However, a person familiar with the matter said there were no agreements at any time with the parties in
question to give Elliott the right to the underlying Samsung shares. He also pointed out the commission had not
issued any official findings from its own probe other than to refer the matter to the prosecution.
Hedge funds often use total return swaps, a complex derivative swap, to take long position in assets without
having to own them outright.

Capital Partners, a judge for the Federal District Court of Manhattan ruled that the hedge funds had violated
securities laws by not fully disclosing their stakes in a timely manner, including positions held via total return

penalize the
funds
.
In Elliott's case, "the financial regulators believe that if an investor utilizes total return swaps to
increase its ownership in a company with the specific intent to launch a hostile attack on the management, then it
is in direct conflict with the principles behind public disclosures," the news agency said.
The decision by the commission to involve the prosecution in Elliott's case marks the first time Korean
authorities have taken action against investors exploiting total return swaps to bolster their positions,
according to Yonhap.
Elliott Management declined to comment on the report.

Given Israel's clearly demonstrated ability to manipulate and manage American government at
all levels, there is inevitably considerable speculation about the presence of actual Israeli
citizens in the federal and state bureaucracies. Very often, lists that appear on the internet
focus on Jewish legislators, but in reality, few of them are likely to have Israeli citizenship
even if they regularly exhibit what amounts to "dual loyalty" sympathy for the Jewish state.
Nevertheless, Jews who are Zionists are
vastly overrepresented in all government agencies that have anything at all to do with the
Middle East.
There are, of course, some Jews who flaunt their identification with Israel, to include
current Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer who describes himself as "protector" of Israel and
former Senator Frank Lautenberg, frequently referred to as "Israel's Senator." One might also
include Rahm Emanuel, former White House Chief of Staff and mayor of Chicago, who reportedly
served as a
volunteer in the Israeli Army, and Doug Feith, who caused so much mischief from his perch

that he might have obtained Israeli citizenship.
To be sure there are many non-Jews in the American government who have hitched their star to
the Israeli wagon because they know it to be career enhancing. One only has to observe in
action Senator Lindsay Graham, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and perhaps the most
revolting of all, Florida governor Ron DeSantis, who ran for office proclaiming that he would
be the most pro-Israel governor in the United States. After being elected he traveled to
Jerusalem with a large entourage of Zionist supporters to hold the first meeting of the Florida
state government cabinet. According to some authorities in Florida, the meeting was supposed to
be held in the state capitol Tallahassee and was therefore illegal, but DeSantis was undaunted
and made clear to observers where his loyalty lies.
Part of the problem is that Israeli citizenship is obtained virtually automatically upon
application by any Jew and once obtained it is permanent, only revocable by petitioning the
Israeli government. Nor is there anything equating to a list of citizens, so it is possible to
be an Israeli citizen while also holding American citizenship and no one would be the wiser. As
the United States permits American citizens to have multiple passports and therefore
nationalities there is, in fact, nothing in U.S. law that prohibits being both Israeli and
American.
Having dual nationality only a real issue when the policies of one citizenship conflict with
the other, and that is precisely where the problem comes in with Israeli dual nationals in the
United States, particularly if they wind up in the government. Frank Lautenberg, for example,
was responsible for the "Lautenberg amendment" of 1990 which brought many thousands of Russian
Jews into the United States as refugees, even though they were not in any danger and were
therefore ineligible for that status. As refugees, they received significant taxpayer provided
housing, subsistence and educational benefits.
Some other current officials in the government who may or may not have dual nationality and
are in policy making positions might include U.S. (sic) Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and
the recently resigned international negotiator Jason Greenblatt. Both have long histories of
pro-Israel advocacy to include supporting illegal settlements on the West Bank. And there is
also someone named Jared Kushner, whose ties to Israel are so close that Benjamin Netanyahu
once slept in his father and mother's apartment. If the metric to judge the actions – and
loyalty – of these individuals is their willingness to place American interests ahead of
those of Israel, they all would fail the test.
That said, there was one individual dual national who truly stood out when it came to
serving Israeli interests from inside the United States government. She might be worthy of the
nickname "Queen of Sanctions" because she was the Department of the Treasury's Under Secretary
for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence (OTFI), who handed the punishment out and had her hand
on the throttle to crank the pain up. She is our own, unfortunately, and also Israel's own
Sigal Pearl Mandelker, and is its wonderful to be able to say that she
finally resigned last week!
OFTI's
website proclaims that it is responsible for "safeguarding the financial system against
illicit use and combating rogue nations, terrorist facilitators, weapons of mass destruction
(WMD) proliferators, money launderers, drug kingpins, and other national security threats," but
it has from its founding been really all about safeguarding Israel's perceived interests.
Grant Smith notes how "the secretive office has a special blind spot for major terrorism
generators, such as tax-exempt money laundering from the United States into illegal Israeli
settlements and proliferation financing and weapons technology smuggling into Israel's
clandestine nuclear weapons complex."
To be sure, sanctions have been the key weapon in the ongoing unending war against perceived
"enemies" like Russia and Venezuela, but they have been laid on most promiscuously in the case
of Iran, Israel's number one enemy du jour, which has also been demonized by Washington even
though it is no threat to the United States. And it should be recognized that sanctions are not
a bloodless exercise used to pressure a recalcitrant government. They disproportionately affect
the poor and powerless, who starve and are denied access to medicines, but they rarely have any
impact on those who run the government. Five-hundred thousand Iraqi children died from
sanctions imposed by President Bill Clinton and his vulturine Secretary of State Madeleine
Albright. Currently, Iranians and Venezuelans are dying, by some estimates in their tens of
thousands.
Once on a sanctions list administered by the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control
(OFAC) , there is no actual appeal process and no getting off the hook unless Mandelker
said so. And anyone who has any contact with the sanctioned entity can be in for trouble,
including American citizens who will find themselves no longer having rights to free speech and
association. The terms for violation of sanctions used by OFAC are "transaction" and "dealing
in transactions," broadly construed to include not only monetary dealings or exchanges, but
also "providing any sort of service" and "non-monetary service," including giving a
presentation at a conference or speaking or writing in support of a sanctioned group or
individual.
OFAC has a broad mandate to punish anyone who has anything to do with any Iranian group or
even any individual as Iran is considered a country that is "comprehensively sanctioned." To
cite just one example of how indiscriminately the sanctions regime works, Max Blumenthal
has
described how the FBI recently, acting under Mandelker's orders, warned a number of
Americans who had planned on speaking at an Iranian organized conference in Beirut that they
might be arrested upon their return.
Mandelker was born in Israel and largely educated in the United States. She is predictably a
lawyer. She has never stated how many citizenships she holds while repeated inquiries as to
whether she retains her Israeli citizenship have been ignored by the Treasury Department. It is
not clear how she managed to obtain a security clearance given her evident affinity to a
foreign country. The position that she held until last Wednesday was created in 2004 by George
W. Bush and is something of a "no Gentiles need apply" fiefdom. Its officials travel regularly
on the taxpayer's dime to Israel for consultations and also collaborate with pro-Israel
organizations like AIPAC, WINEP and the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD).
Mandelker's predecessor was Adam Szubin and he was preceded by David Cohen and, before that, by
the office's founder Stuart Levey, who is currently Group Legal Manager and Group Managing
Director for global bank HSBC. Since its creation, OFTI has not surprisingly focused on what
might be described as Israel's enemies, most notably among them being Iran.
Mandelker was clear about her role, citing her personal and business relationship with "our
great partner, Israel." Referring to sanctions on Iran, she has said that "Bad actors need
money to do bad things. That is why we have this massive sanctions regime Every time we apply
that pressure, that crunch on them, we deny them the ability to get that kind of revenue, we
make the world a safer place." In support of the pain she is inflicting to no real purpose
other than to force complete Iranian capitulation, she cites alleged Iranian misdeeds, foremost
of which is its alleged threatening of Israel. She also condemns Iran's support for Syria's
Bashar al-Assad, who she claims has killed his own people with chemical weapons, an assertion
that has proven to be untrue.
Mandelker touted her personal history as a claimed child of the seemingly ubiquitous
"holocaust survivors." In a speech at the Holocaust Museum in April she claimed that her
parents went underground in Eastern Europe: "They were hiding underground, in forests, in
ditches and under haystacks. I grew up hearing their stories, including about moments of great
courage, some of which resulted in survival and others that ended in death."
To be sure, Mandelker and her predecessors have been going after Iran's money since the 1979
Islamic Revolution, constantly devising new restrictions and rules to make it hard for Tehran
to do business with any other country. In 2006 Levey's office began to focus on cutting off
Iran from the global financial system. Currently the Trump administration is applying what it
describes as "maximum pressure" in seeking to sink Iran's economy by blocking all oil exports.
Since May, any country buying Iranian oil has been vulnerable to secondary sanctions by
Washington, all set up and choreographed by Mandelker.
That Mandelker and company have been engaging in economic warfare with a country with which
the United States is not at war seems to have escaped the notice of the media and Washington's
chattering class, not surprisingly as Israel is a beneficiary of the policy. And the fact that
the way sanctions are being enforced against American citizens is clearly unconstitutional has
also slipped by the usual watchdogs. Sigal Mandelker was a prime example of why anyone who is
either an actual dual national or plausibly possesses dual loyalty should not hold high office
in the United States government and is a blessing that she is gone, though one imagines she
will be replaced by another Zionist fanatic. If anyone wonders why Israel gets away with what
it does the simple answer would be that there are just too many people at the federal level who
think that serving Israel is the same as serving the United States. That is just not so and it
is past time that the American public should wake up to that fact.

CRS statistics indicate that over 370,000 refugees were admitted from the Former
Soviet Union in the first ten years of the Lautenberg Amendment. In October 2002 the
Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported that "The Lautenberg Amendment allowed some 350,000 to
400,000 Jews from the former Soviet Union to gain entry into the United States without
having to prove they were individually persecuted." In 2010 the Hebrew Immigrant Aid

that the amendment had resulted in almost 440,000 refugees from the former Soviet Union

What you are confused with is obtaining the repatriation visa and the temporary card. The
visa they can issue before people arrive in Israel, and the temporary identity card at the
airport. But those are only useful if you will live for the following months in Israel.

Although I have not checked recently, I am fairly sure that is not the whole story by any

It is quite true that ordinary citizens can go a lifetime with dual nationality and feel
no pain. I am one such, as my parents were British by birth but I was born in Argentina. Like
the USA, Argentina grants nationality to everyone born there (or, perhaps more accurately,
claims such people as its citizens).
However I think you will find that US law forbids anyone with dual US-anything nationality
to serve as an officer (or perhaps in any rank) in the other nation's armed forces, or to
accept political office in the other nation's government. There may well be other
restrictions.
The exceptions I have pointed out are very relevant indeed to the dual US-Israeli citizens
mentioned in the article, as many of them have served in the Israeli armed forces. Indeed is
that not compulsory for any Israeli citizen resident in Israel)? Some of them have also held
political office, had civil service jobs, etc.

was that Jews couldn't be trusted because they were loyal to a foreign power. In 2019, we can't
be trusted because we're disloyal to a foreign power.
That is the viewpoint Donald Trump decided to lay out this week. On Tuesday, while talking
to reporters about Israel's decision to bar two Muslim American congresswomen, Reps. Rashida
Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, he said: "I can't believe we're even having this conversation. Where has
the Democratic Party gone? Where have they gone where they are defending these two people over
the state of Israel? I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows
either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty."
At first, there was a bit of confusion over whether Trump was accusing Jewish Democrats of
disloyalty to Israel or the United States. On Wednesday, he clarified . "If you vote for a
Democrat, you're being disloyal to Jewish people and you're being very disloyal to Israel,"
Trump said. (About 70 percent of Jews broke for Hillary Clinton in 2016.)
This is not the first time Trump voiced such sentiments, though in the past he hasn't been
quite so explicit. Speaking before a group of Jewish Republicans in April, the president
referred to Benjamin Netanyahu, the leader of Israel, as "
your prime minister ," as if he were talking to a room full of foreigners. Nor is Trump the
first right-winger to suggest that Jewish Democrats are somehow selling out their kin. The
conservative writer and vlogger Ben Shapiro once memorably tweeted that, "The
Jewish People has always been plagued by Bad Jews, who undermine it from within. In America,
those Bad Jews largely vote Democrat." Iowa congressman Steve King
told an interviewer a few years back that he didn't "understand how Jews in America can be
Democrats first and Jewish second. " And in the wake of the president's comments on Tuesday, a
number of supporters rushed to back him up, from
his friend and lawyer Rudy Giuliani , who seemed to think that the disloyalty charge was OK
because Trump was talking about Israel, to popular conspiracy theorist Wayne Allyn
Root and
troubled pastor Greg Locke.*

was unfair . And in light of recent events, some progressives
have now accused Trump and the Republicans of perpetuating the real dual loyalty
smear. But in some sense, that's not quite right either. Conservatives have actually inverted
the old libel. Instead of accusing Jews of being overly loyal to a foreign nation, Trump has
turned centuries of anti-Semitism on its head by accusing them of not being loyal enough to one
-- and his followers are happy to echo the charge.
How has this come to pass?
One obvious part of the answer is that Trump and other conservatives are just parroting the
sorts of things they hear from Jewish Republicans, who -- let's be blunt -- tend to see
Israel's Jewish critics as a bunch of self-
hating secularists who've bought in to leftist
anti-Semitism . Not all of them are quite as forthright about their feelings as Shapiro,
who charmingly likes to dismiss his opponents as "Jews In Name Only." But the sentiment that liberal Jews are bad Jews is real. And
Republicans outside the tribe have clearly picked up on it.
But pro-Zionist and anti-Zionist Jews have been lobbing accusations of self-hatred and
abetting anti-Semitism at one another quite literally since Zionism was
born . It's an old story. What we're seeing now is also the result of a recent shift in
America's political alignment. While there have almost always been critics of Israel on the
left, there used to be a rock solid bipartisan consensus on the Jewish state among mainstream
Washington politicians, so that accusing Jewish Democrats of "disloyalty" for merely voting for
Democrats wouldn't have made a drop of sense. (Those
71 percent of Jews who voted for Hillary were voting for a very pro-Israel candidate.) But
in recent years, that consensus has begun to crack, in part because of tensions between
Netanyahu and the Obama administration that turned supporting Bibi, at the very least, into a
more partisan issue.
Plenty of Democrats, like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, are still
old-line liberal Zionists. But outside of its top leadership in Congress, the party and
its voters as a whole have become
less unconditionally supportive of Israel, and more tolerant of radically critical voices
like Omar and Tlaib.
Republicans, on the other hand, have become monomaniacally obsessed with Israel and its
security. To many conservatives today, the Jewish state is not just an important ally -- it is
our most important ally. National defense hawks, rightly or wrongly, see it as our
bulwark against Iranian aggression in the Middle East. Islamophobes see it as part of a
struggle over civilization itself.
And an entire generation of evangelical Christian Zionists
-- like Locke -- believe that Israel is part of a divine plan, God's instrument on earth. And
to almost all of them, supporting Israel in practice means supporting Netanyahu's conservative
Likud government. The devotion is so strong that
in a 2015 Bloomberg poll , 67 percent percent of Republicans said they believed that
"Israel is an important ally, the only democracy in the region, and we should support it even
if our interests diverge." Nobody would say that last part about, like, Great Britain.

That's what makes this whole thing so worrisome. It's not that Trump and his buddies are
reviving the old dual loyalty smear, exactly. It's not simply that they are treating Jews as an
other, whose politics can only be judged in relation to a foreign nation and who are not
really completely American (though that's worrisome too). It's frightening because when
conservatives say that Jews who vote for Democrats are disloyal to Israel, they are implying
that they are disloyal to their own ethnic interests, American interests, and even the
almighty's. It's the 2019 version of calling liberal Jews a bunch of heretics. And we all know
what happens to heretics in the end.

Back in the spring I wrote about coming
across the name Arnon Milchan by chance on a movie credit while flying from Venice to
Washington. Milchan, some might recall, is a Hollywood billionaire movie producer born in
Israel, well known for such films as Pretty Woman and Bohemian Rhapsody . He is
less well known for his role in arranging for the procurement and illegal transfer of U.S.
technology that enabled the Jewish state to develop its own nuclear arsenal. Far from being
ashamed of his betrayal of the adopted country that helped make him rich and famous, in 2011 he
authorized and contributed to a ghost-written biography, which he boastfully entitled
"Confidential: The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon." Parts of the book were in the
first person with Milchan telling his story in his own words.
I had been aware of Milchan's crimes for a number of years, just as I had also speculated on
how a leading Israeli spy working actively and successfully against vital U.S. anti-nuclear
proliferation interests had managed to continue to maintain a home and business in Los Angeles
while also appearing regularly at the Oscar presentation ceremonies. I asked "Why is this
scumbag still making movies in Hollywood? Why isn't he in jail?" before concluding that the
federal government clearly regards spying for Israel as a victimless crime, rarely arresting
anyone and almost never prosecuting any of the numerous easily identifiable Israeli

Milchan was an active Israeli spy in the U.S., working for the Mossad technology theft

top secret defense contractor MILCO International. Milchan personally recruited MILCO's
president Richard Kelly Smyth as an agent before turning him over to another Heli Trading

which Israel, and later other countries, were parties. To make films there's no need for crony
capitalism, but to succeed in the arms business, government connections are obligatory."
Milchan has been involved in a
bit of controversy in Israel itself, where the police have recommended that he be charged
with bribery connected with the ongoing investigation of corruption by Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu. Milchan, it seems, spent one million shekels ($250,000) on luxury items that he gave
to Bibi as a reported quid pro quo to exempt his substantial U.S. derived income from
taxes when he returned to Israel to live in 2013-4.
Demonstrating that Milchan's corruption was international, the police investigation
determined that in 2014 Netanyahu approached then U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to
intervene and arrange for a long-term American visa for Milchan, who was at the time dealing

they are also irrelevant or worse. Since the hostility to Jews rests largely on their excessive presence (again, in the eyes of the

Happy, prosperous societies seldom form lynch mobs. When things break down, when hope wanes, expectations fall, and near-desperation
sets in, explosions come. Today the United States quite arguably heads into a Weimar-like future of chaos and social violence. This
may sound crazy but is it? Nobody thought such a highly civilized country as Germany capable of Treblinka.
America is not really stable. Political animosity runs high, racial hostility is great and growing, standards of living fall,
offshoring and automation leave the young with nowhere for their lives to go. Wealth goes rapidly from the many to the few and what
was the working class falls into drugs and anomie. The wars never end. Infrastructure ages and falls behind that of more advanced
nations. Anger grows. As the pie shrinks, someone will have to get less pie.
It is hard to see how this can continue forever. My guess is that the fighting -- "unrest" is the polite term -- will break out

Note: I haven't encountered any Jews who were pushy or hostile with me. I've known Jews from work, school and the community,
and they don't seem any more likely to be aggressive, in the interpersonal sense, than anyone else. I think this tendency has
been exaggerated – a lot. When I was in my early twenties my blond shiksa cousin had a couple of Jewish friends she would take
with her when she visited. Trust me, the only aggressive and mean one in the bunch was my cousin. The two Jewish girls were good
company, and my friends and I were always happy to socialize with them. The one Jewish kid in my class would never have been described
as aggressive by anyone.

As Fred hinted, Jews prize their ethnic identity much more than most whites. For example, while Italian and Greek Americans may
pay homage to their respective identities, they don't wear them on their sleeves. They certainly wouldn't describe an Italian
marrying a Greek as "intermarriage," a few potential exceptions notwithstanding.
Of course, Jews bragging about their success doesn't help either. Chinese and other Asian Americans – while not wielding the
political and cultural clout of Jews – are also very economically successful; but they at least have the wisdom to keep quiet
about it, as evidenced by their strident rejection of the "model minority" stereotype. Successful minorities worldwide such as
Bohras in India also manage to quietly enjoy their success; and that's saying something, given that India is an openly – and often
violently – majoritarian country.
Ultimately, I think that Jews' chutzpah engenders a lot of ill will. Of all affluent and accomplished minorities, they're
certainly the most flamboyant and pushy.
When a state is composed of a homogeneous population, the natural inertia of such a population will hold the Stage together

I have a friend who is prejudiced against Chinese people, based on his dealings with Chinese in the computer industry. His
perception (right or wrong, but it is the perception which matters) is that they were "sneaky," "underhanded," they "stuck
together against the round eyes."
Yet, as a school teacher, this same fellow readily bragged up the achievements of his numerous Oriental students. Which tells
me that, on a personal level, prejudice can be overcome. As the saying went, back in the days of hippies vs. rednecks, "Bar

Nah. Jews follow whites around, the same way blacks do. Jews need whites, to live in white countries, the same way

That particular incident actually speaks well of the Jews, don't you think? Regardless of what one thinks of the Crusades
themselves. The stereotype in all times is that Jews are unpatriotic and will not fight for the land they live in, but often
enough this has turned out to be untrue. This is one such instance, though here it will have been more a matter of practicality.
It's certainly true today. I think Jews are more famous for being unreliable than for being reliably unpatriotic. They can
be "patriots" (it's weird to speak of Jews as "patriotic" toward anything but Jewry or Israel; to the extent they are, they're
not really Jews), but it's usually a matter of convenience.
Every part of a Boeing 787 is designed to be as light as can possibly be made. Therefore a Boeing 787 is a light object.
Fred, paraphrased;
"no one Jew whom I have met has done me any irremedial harm therefore Jews as a whole do no harm."
As you can see, fallacy of composition.
While it may be the case that no one Jew that Fred (or I) have met has done me irrevocable harm, this does not allow one
to draw the conclusion that Jews as a whole have not harmed American society as a whole.
Well said. A lot of philosemites have this stupid, cartoon version of countersemitism put into their heads by Jews. Most of
us didn't get to countersemitism because we were harmed or cheated by a Jew we know. If we all took the mouse's point of view,
none of us would be countersemites. It's when you take the eagle's point of view, get a look at the big picture, that the problems
become apparent.

I've known only a few Jews, but I can say something similar. I had a Jewish boss once, he was a nice, easygoing, quiet, totally
harmless kind of guy. I remember a Jewish classmate in high school; a dipshit, but not in any extraordinary way. Many non-Jews
were worse. Had one Jewish neighbor who was a mensch. Had another who was no great shakes, but not bad, either. Had another who
was a complete dick. Had a Jewish neighbor kid who was a perv. Knew a couple of extremely snobby JAP girls. Had a dumb (yes, I
said dumb – the guy was stupid) Jewish roommate who leaned slightly prick but nothing to write home about.
Just people. It's when you start to look at the aggregate behavior that you start seeing the (pretty huge) problems.
One reason people have problem with Jews is the discrepancy between what Jews preach and what Jews practice.
Italians, Iranians, Chinese, Turks, and etc don't go around preaching to the world in the self-righteous manner that Jews do.
They do their own thing in their own nations, and leave others alone.
But Jews preach to the whole world about how their way is the only way but they don't practice what they preach.
Everything Jews preach outside of Israel (diversity, open borders, unrestricted immigration, etc.) is the exact opposite of
what Jews practice in Israel itself.
Hm. Yes, interesting. I think that, indeed, a lot of it is that Jews – for whatever reason – tend to be successful, and to hold
themselves apart – a potentially toxic combination, socially.
But: "What have Jews actually done to you? Hacked your bank account? Gypped you out of your house?" Well, actually, yes. Look
at the trillions of dollars we're throwing at subsidizing Wall Street (no, TARP was a sideshow). One example: you are getting
like 0% interest on your savings accounts, yes? Well, that's a subsidy to the big banks – they don't have to pay you any interest
because the big banks have bribed the government to give them unlimited cash at 0% interest. Etc. And these big Wall Street banks
are overwhelmingly controlled by Jews. Granted, only something like 0.0001% (or so) of Jews are Wall Street CEOs, but you get
the idea. And so on and so forth. So, one can see how this could spread.
The Jews are, in general, so smart and talented. As individuals they can be wonderful (except for those Wall Street CEOs, but
there are some rapacious gentiles on Wall Street as well). But how can they be so blind? Can they not see how their attitudes
can fuel an often irrational (but not unexpected!) hatred and resentment?
Is it perhaps social loyalty, that they cannot criticize
their fellow Jews who are disgusting parasitical bankers, and eventually the bill comes due for those who are themselves blameless?
Why, for all their talents and wisdom and personal charm, are Jews as a class so blind in this regards?

Brod believes that Mathilde Krim was strategic in forming the friendship.
From the day they first met which was at the party for JFK at the Krim residence in the
city– from that day forward she speaks proudly of having nurtured a relationship with
Johnson because Johnson was not part of the JFK inner circle. I don't think it was an
accident that she approached Johnson and developed this ongoing relationship. I have a
feeling that from her entry into the United States if not before there was a plan of how she
could best serve Israel and she began serving them when she was living in Switzerland in her
first marriage and her work with the Stern gang. She had a strong stomach to involve herself
with that kind of terror, and she certainly lived up to it here.

His successor had fewer scruples about backing Israel. Johnson's political career was
interwoven with Jews, as his wife later reflected, and he saw that nuclear nonproliferation

community. Johnson ultimately suppressed intelligence reports that Israel was becoming a
nuclear power. "By 1968, the President had no intention of doing anything to stop the Israeli
bomb," Hersh writes.
Mathilde Krim was undoubtedly a factor in that policymaking. Throughout his presidency, the
Krims were among Johnson's very closest friends. They had a room in the White House and built a house on Lake
Lyndon B. Johnson in the Texas hill country so as to be near his ranch in Stonewall when he was on vacation
there. Johnson stayed at their house in New York.
It has been suggested that Mathilde Krim was LBJ's lover. "It was a barely hidden secret in
leading government circles in Israel and the United States at the time that Mrs. Krim was extremely close to
Lyndon Johnson," Helena Cobban wrote in
her blogpost on Krim
last week. While Brod points out that Johnson was a "competitive womanizer," according to
his aide Bill Moyers, and certainly the president had social opportunities alone with Mathilde Krim.

They are missing a fascinating story about the ability of a charismatic intelligent zealot
to gain the audience of the most powerful man in the world as history was unfolding.
"One of the things that made Israel's miracle come true was Israel's ability to use people
like Abe Fortas and Arthur Goldberg," Brod says. "They had a huge Rolodex of influential
people, whether mass media or fundraisers, that they could contact and effectively use
depending on the situation, and there was no one more needed during the Six Day War than
Mathilde Krim."
When Abba Eban told a disapproving Johnson in Texas that Israel could no longer hold off its
attack, it was Johnson and Mathilde who flew back to the White House, leaving Lady Bird behind
at the ranch. It was Johnson who awakened Krim in her White House bedroom to tell her the news
of the war beginning. It was Mathilde Krim who who even as she was forced to get back to work
in New York left Johnson a pro-Israel speech to quiet a pending Jewish demonstration.
As for Johnson's willingness to turn a blind eye to the Israeli nuclear program, or its
attack on the USS Liberty on June 8, 1967, we can only guess at Mathilde Krim's advice to him.
As she later advised others, anyone can have an influence over policy– you just have to
throw yourself into it.
"Lyndon Johnson was so willing to be Mathilde Krim's hero that he would do almost anything
he could get away with," Brod concludes. "And that was quite a lot."
