The moving twin experienced an acceleration which slowed it's 'clock' relative to the stationary twin. Thus the moving twin would age more slowly until deacceleration which would return the moving twin's 'clock' to the same rate (certainly not time) as the stationary one. Thus the descrepancy in age upon return. The Lorentz transformations you explained in great deal are correct but confusing to the non-physics type.
