Unfortunately eggs are not very cheap here :(   Pity, because I love eggs.
As Natalie suggested, pasta is cheap, but I find the usual additions to it 
are not.  And bread ?  Well ... yes.  It WAS cheap until I started going 
through a loaf each day.  I was sticking to ceral for a while too, but I 
found milk is expensive.  They always hit you somewhere *sigh*
