well, the thought did occur to me, too..but i guess you'd have to protect 
them somehow from the bugs (they're terrible down here in Houston!)
I guess salt would help 'cure' them quicker maybe? Well, i have a few 
cherry tomatoes; i guess i could experiment w/one or two of them...put 
them under a glass bowl, perhaps atop a cutting board to soak up
 any or condensation...i think i WILL try! :)  sure beats paying a coupld 
of appendages for them!
