its a powder that when added to water gives you sugar flavored water in a
plethora of nifty colors.  it comes in a bunch of flavors, but they should 
really just be done by color.  the most common (by far) is red, but you can
get it in blue, green, yellow, pink, purple, orange, just about any major
color you can think of.  i even heard that there was a clear for a while 
(although it may have been wylers or flavoraid, two competitors).

its a cheap way to flavor water ($0.12 + one cup sugar for half gallon of
flavored water).  i like it mixed with 1/2 cup of sugar better though, the
regular stuff is way too sweet.
