Taxation Follows Representation
<h2>Once upon a Time...</h2>
In the late eighteenth century, people in British North America were quite irate. One reason was that we were getting taxed quite heavily but there was no mechanism for us to appeal to our leaders. It was a terrible thing called "Taxation Without Representation." For this and other reasons, a war was fought, some people died, and the United States of America was born.<p>
<h2>What about this Representation?</h2>
Some people say that Political Action&nbsp;Committees&nbsp;end up representing the various authentic interests of people, which is why your elected&nbsp;representative&nbsp;has no time for their constituents, but spend their time courting the influence that PAC money provides.<p>
If that is true, we should arrange for our tax money (all of it) to flow directly to one or more of the PACs of our individual choice and let Congress prostitute itself (as they are wont to do) to get the money out of them! PACs that represent more money (and perhaps more people) will have greater influence in government.<p>
People who are taxed the most should have better representation in Congress anyway!<p>
Of course, we should get rid of "corporations as people" and institute real liability on business owners, convert existing businesses into partnerships or sole proprietorships, and provide basic homestead rights more universally.<p>
